Zebrahead

TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Ali from Zebrahead, thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

ZH - Thanks for having me.

TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

ZH - I would say, if you have never been to a Zebrahead show before, expect to meet a bunch of people who are open minded and are there to have a good time, so bring the energy. It is a pretty energetic show so come and have a good time.

TM - Can you give us any hints about the songs?

ZH - It is a headline set so we are going to be playing more songs. Hopefully a few songs from every album without giving away too much.

TM - What's your favourite song to play live?

ZH - For me, it is the newer songs that we have written because the oldest songs have been played for so long. It is nice to play something new, and we have a song called "Sink Like a Stone", that came out a few months ago, and that is our newest released song.

TM - Are you working on a new album?

ZH - We are in the studio currently trying to finish up the songs, and we are going to record them after the Australian trip. We are planning on finishing them up and recording them, hopefully, they can be released by summer.

TM - That's exciting.

TM - What's your favourite memory watching someone else perform live, can you tell us a story?

ZH - Growing up I was a massive Beastie Boys fan and one year in Tokyo we played a festival called Summer Sonic and the Beastie Boys were headlining the main stage and some Crew were setting up the equipment and someone had told them I was a massive Beastie Boys fan. I was sitting in my dressing room and one of the crew guys came in and said,          Hey are you Ali, and I said yeah, and he said i heard you are a Beastie Boys fan, and I said yeh and he said they want to invite you to watch The Beastie Boys From the side of the stage tonight if that's something you would be into. I was like oh my god, so I got to watch them from the side of the stage, and i will never forget that.

TM - What festival do you want to play?

ZH - Summer Sonic is a cool festival because it combines all these genres of music not just one. I would definitely say that festival for that reason. There is a festival called Greenfield festival and they set it up between these two huge mountains and the stage is in the middle. When you look out. It is the most beautiful scenery that you can imagine.

TM - If you made a festival who would be your three headline acts?

ZH - let's go Beastie Boys and Radiohead because I have never seen them. I would love to see them and A Tribe Called Quest which is a old school hip hop group that I grew up listening to.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?

ZH - A mix up of Rage Against the Machine and Green Day doing a song in their style. If Zac joined Green Day or if Billie Joe joined Rage Against the Machine and covered one of our songs that would be pretty cool.

TM - If you could create a all star band who, would you have in your line-up?

ZH - Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers would be cool. Dave Grohl on drums and Liam Gallagher from Oasis because he would be fun to watch. I would bring back Eddie Van Halen and lemmy from Motorhead too.

TM - Who was the first band you saw live and can you tell us a story?

ZH - Ben and i went to high school together and he took me to a band called "Face To Face" and they played this venue called The Ice House which is near where we grew up. It was a fun show that was my first show.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

ZH - Thank You for supporting us throughout the years. We wouldn't be able to do any of this without you. We are coming to Australia in a few weeks to play a few shows there. We are working on a new album, so just check our social media accounts and we will be letting you know when it comes out.

TM - Thank You for this interview today, we appreciate it.

ZH - Thank You.
