Twinmusix got to speak to Eli from Trip Hazard.
TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix, and we are here with Eli from Trip Hazzard. Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
EI - Thanks for having me.
TM - What can fans expect from your new album?
EI - I started writing around five years ago, but haven't started anything official since. Six months ago, we sent it to the band and started working on it, and it became a whole album.
TM - What was your writing and recording process?
EI - I write Everything on an acoustic guitar and record it on my bed while I'm comfortable. I will record it on my phone and send it over to the other two band members, and then they will listen to it and give me feedback. Then we will all get together and work on it to see which parts we want to keep and what sounds right on it.
TM - Where do you record?
EI - I recorded at Bunker Studios, and a lot of these songs that we have are recorded over there. We have made this album, and the guy who produces us is called Ben Watson.
TM - Who is in your band, and how did you form?
EI - Trip Hazard is a new name, we changed our band name, and we are a three Peice band. We have a Drummer named CJ and Byron on Bass, and I am the Lead Vocalist, rhythm and Lead Guitarist.
TM - You have been playing some shows, how are they going?
EI - They have been great. I used to play solo, and I use to do covers of songs, but now I write my own songs, and they stick in my head.
TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be, and would it be in your style or their style?
EI - I would love to see Foo Fighters or Dave Grohl play one of my songs in his way.
TM - Who was the first band or Artist you saw live, and can you tell us a story?
EI - The first ever band I saw live was Guns and Roses, I think it was about 1994, and I couldn't really hear him because it was an open venue and I could just see him jumping around.
TM - Did he influence you to play music?
EI - It would be my uncle who influenced me to play because he was in a band. He was the first person that I ever saw play guitar, but I didn't take it up till I was in my thirties.
TM - If you could play at any festival, what would it be?
EI - I would like to play Woodstock if it ever comes around again.
TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?
EI - Keep rocking and enjoy the local scene.
TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today.
EI - Thank You.
