Tim "Ripper" Owens

TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Tim "Ripper Owens", thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

TRO - I came there last year and my friends Joel Macdonald, Andrew and Jordan played with me and it is such a great band. We did two shows last year and I thought let's get back there and do some more shows, It is a great setlist. I have also been touring non-stop with KK's Priest and I thought well I have some time off from that let's put a tour together and get to Australia. I think we might also add some New Zealand shows.

TM - Is KK's Priest coming to Australia?

TRO - KK's Priest would love to come to Australia but it's hard especially when it's a newer band. KK wants to make sure the show is right and everything is good. He has worked hard in trying to do it so hopefully we will get there.

TM - We would love to see it here so fingers crossed, how is it singing with KK's Priest?

TRO - KK and I have been friends for a long time now and when he called me to do the band I thought it was a great line up With Tony, AJ and Sean. The shows where unbelievable and there is a lot of shows out there that can't pack it in or bring it. I think we do it well, we had Accept touring with us and they brought it every night and it was unbelievable. On another tour, we had La Guns and Burning Witches and it was phenomenal. Every night with the crowds, the fans and the singing, it was amazing.

TM - What's your favourite song to play live from KK's Priest and Tim Ripper Owens?

TRO - From KK's Priest I like doing "One More Shot At Glory" from the last record and "Strike Of The Viper" and I do have some KK's priest in my set list for the Australian show.

TM - Who was the first band you saw live and can you tell us a story?

TRO - The first band I ever saw live was Judas Priest, I think it was 1984. It was pretty special for me to see Rob walkout on stage and see those guys who I love so much.

TM - what's your favourite memory from touring?

TRO - I loved it when I opened for Heaven and Hell tour by Black Sabbath and Ronnie James Dio would come out on stage. I would stand out there every night and watch them play because I was just amazed I was opening for them. Ronnie James Dio is my biggest hero and it's just something watching him.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?

TRO - I would have Judas priests right now play "Blood Stained" from my era of Judas Priest it would be cool.

TM - What was the first band or Artist you saw live and can you tell us a story?

TRO - Judas Priest defenders of the faith tour in 1984 and Great White and Coney Hatch opening in Cleveland at the Colosseum. My friend's tony and his aunt took us to the concert and it was a game changer for me. It opened up with Love Bites and Rob appeared through fire it was pretty amazing to watch that and that was my first show ever.

TM - Do you have any new music coming out?

TRO - I have been working on people's stuff ever since I have been off. Hopefully soon I will be working on some new kk's Priest. I wish we were still on the road as we were just getting some momentum but we are going to sit back and figure out what we are going to do next. Hopefully there will be a full Tim ripper Owens CD coming out.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

TRO - We are looking forward to the Australian tour it is in January and you can check it out on my page or Hardline media. Check out the tour dates and spread the word and get some people there.

TM - That's cool you are doing Perth.

TRO - Everyone is going to have to pack out these shows because if they want KK's Priest there they are going to have to pack out these places so let's hope they do.
