The Halo Effect
TM - Hi this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Niclas from The Halo Effect, Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
NS - Thank you.
TM - You are bringing out your new album March of the Unheard What can fans expect?
NS - Fans can expect an album full of positive energy. We have tons of energy and solos. I think there is a bit of everything on this album "Days Of The Lost". It was a first step for us and now this is a band that is more confident as we have toured a lot and done a lot of press and tours. It makes us gel more as a band and as a unit and I think we have matured as The Halo Effect.
TM - What was your writing and recording process for "March of the Unheard"?
NS - Our writing process was a long one. I started one month prior to our first show at Sweden Rock Festival because we got offered to play an hour slot and our show was forty-two minutes so we had to stretch the show a little bit. I wrote an intro and outro which we kept for a bunch of our shows and we really like it as a band and then I thought why don't I write a full song from the intro which became the title song "March of the Unheard".
TM - How did you come up with your Album cover and is there a meaning behind it?
NS - That is Michael's ideas and he had the vision. He had Adrian Baxter bring everything to life with his wonderful cover art so he captured Michaels visions very well.
TM - Do you have a favourite song on "March of the Unheard"?
NS - I think it is a little bit early to choose a favorite song. First I need to have the vinyl in my hand for my turntable but since we brought out a video last week I would say "Cruel Perception".
TM - How did you come up with your video?

NS - We recorded that video in September in Gothenburg. We were doing a lot of takes and it took a long time. We love the scenery in Gothenburg and our video could easily become a commercial for visiting Gothenburg because this is were we are still living.
TM - You are going on tour with Pain in Europe, What can fans expect?
NS - That is going to be a fun run in Europe and the UK. Pain are a long time friend of ours and it will be full on positive heavy metal energy on that tour. We are doing it for about 5 weeks it is going to be a tough one.
TM - What's your favourite part about being on the road?
NS - I think it is a luxury to have, one day you are in Belgium and the next day you are in Paris, then you could be in Mexico or Los Angeles and you are visiting all these countries of the world. You have friends in all these places that you have met several times and you can just catch up with them over lunch or dinner it is a blessing and I really love it.
TM - Are you going to come back to Australia?
NS - I really hope so, we were in Australia last year and in New Zealand. We went on tour with devil skin and the great and beyond black at the Lagerstein festival and we would love to come back.
TM - Are there any tourist attractions you want to see in Australia?
NS - Right now in Australia you have summer and it is wonderful and here in the north we have winter and it is grey and cold. I wish we were in Australia touring it is a wonderful country and we always feel welcome there.
TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?
NS - I would love to hear Candlemass do our next single "what we Become" I think it would be cool to do it as doom Metal.
TM - What was the first band you saw live and can you tell us a story?
NS - My parents let me and my friend go to the Dio Last In Line tour show back in 1984 and Queensrÿche was opening with the Warning Album. That is when it felt like I got hit by lightning and I knew I wanted to become a musician. That is when I saw my guitar idol Vivian Campbell up on stage that was mind blowing. I didn't know anything about the band Queensrÿche back then but they just had the warning album out that I discovered and then later when I got to play the same venue, I was thinking Vivian Campbell was standing where I am standing and I was doing the same power stance he was doing in 1984 so it made an impact on me.
TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?
NS - we can't wait to come back to Australia, it is a must, Let's Do It Again.
TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
NS - Thank you.
