The Contortionist were Formed in 2007 and are from Indianapolis. They are popular for their American progressive metal style and definitely know how to rock!

Over their career they have released four records  which are  "Exoplanet" in 2010, "Intrinsic in" in 2012, "Language" in 2014 and "Clairvoyant in 2017". They have gained a massive following over the years and twinmusix was lucky enough to listen to the one and only Contortionist.

On Friday may the 4th the contortionist played the Manning Bar in Sydney with support acts SikTh from the UK and Alithia from Melbourne Australia.

As you walked into the  packed venue it was buzzing with fans waiting for The Contortionist to come on stage.

The lights went dim and background music started playing,  you could tell everyone was getting excited as everyone started moving closer to the stage.

The lights went dim and background music started playing,  you could tell everyone was getting excited as everyone started moving closer to the stage.

The contortionist came out onto the stage and jumped straight into their first song of the night "Clairvoyant" and then straight into "Godspeed". As you looked out into the audience everyone was jumping around and going crazy, everyone had their metal horns up in the air and you knew they were there for a great time.

Michael Lessard put his hands up and started clapping along to "Reimagined" and the audience clappand along with Michael and it made you feel like a part of the band, as Michael was so interactive you knew it was going to be a great show. The next song was "Absolve" and everyone continued headbanging along.

The Contortionist played four more songs "Thrive, Return to Earth, Primordial Sound And Oscillator" with there hard hitting guitars, amazing vocals and a fantastic sound.

Michael Lessard thanked the crowd for joining them and was really excited to be playing in Australia as they proceeded to play two more songs the crowd jumped in unison and it put a real pop of energy into the room, it made you want to listen to them all night.

The contortionist then playe played two more songs to  finish off the night "Language I: Intuition And Language II: Conspire".
