The Clouds

TM - Hi this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with "Jodi Phillis" From Clouds, thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

JP - Thank you.

TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

JP - We will do what we normally do and play our crazy Tunes. We will throw in what people expect, the popular songs. We will also try to play a few songs that people won't expect. We spent 35 years playing music and we have a unique fan base.

TM - What is your favourite song to play live?

JP - I have a few songs I like to play,  "Foxes Wedding, Aquamarine and Domino", are some of my favourites.

TM - What is your favourite memory with your fans and can you tell us a story?

JP - We have really beautiful friendly fans, it feels like a family because most of them discovered us in the early 90s and they stayed with us so that has been awesome. Our fans have been very lovely and very loyal and it has been nice.

TM - Are you working on any new music?

JP - The Clouds are always talking about it in the background. We have had ideas to do another album or a EP. I think it is floating around as an idea but we are not sure when we will do it. We are all in different States so it is a bit hard to get together. We have done stuff remotely in the past and that has worked.

TM - Who was the first band or Artist you saw live and can you tell us a story?

JP - "Elton John" at the Hordern Pavilion when I was probably ten or eleven years old. I went with my mother and my neighbour and they were also Elton John fans. He was my first true musical love. It was amazing and it was back when he was wearing all the fur and the big shoes. I was on my neighbours shoulders up the front of the venue.

TM - Did he inspire you to play music?

JP - I was very influenced by him to play music. I got a guitar when I was 13 years old from my parents and started mucking around. He has a lot of Melodies that go all over the place and a lot of big interval leaps.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs, what band would it be, what song would it be, and would it be in your style or their style?

JP - "The Beach Boys" covering a "Clouds" song with the Incredible let's say "Foxes Wedding".

TM - Who is your favourite band you have seen live?

JP - "Beasts of Bourbon" were amazing back in the day, their live shows where like party time in hell, everything was crazy dark and scary and total rock which was fun. "Supergrass" were amazing and we saw them back in the day in San Francisco.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

JP - We have some great bands supporting us for this tour. In Melbourne, we have "Heir to the Squandered Millions" and they are really incredible players and they play really fast groovy sixties songs you can rock out to. In Brisbane we have "Ghost Mutt" who are awesome and they are really worth catching so get there early. We can't wait to see everyone. Sydney is sold out so sorry about that, everyone else will have to go to Melbourne or Brisbane and we are really excited.

TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
