STEVEN WILSON REVIEW
Steven Wilson played at the Enmore last night, and this was no ordinary gig by any stretch of the imagination. The lights, slide show, videos and the interaction with the fans made this gig truly special and Unique. You entered his show expecting a journey and you could only anticipate what was going to happen next on stage.
Steven Wilson is an English musician, singer, songwriter and record produces progressive rock. He is the founder, lead guitarist, lead vocalist and songwriter of Porcupine Tree, and is a member of several other bands. He is a talented musician and he executes his music with near perfection.
Steven Wilson played two sets with a fifteen minute interval in between and man he rocked and POPped. Steven kicked off his set with a short video of how Society perceives things through different eyes. The band came on stage and started playing instrumental music and then Steven Wilson came out in the spot light. Steven Wilson kiced off the set with "Nowhere Now" and proceeded to play the songs you know and love including "Home Invasion, The Creator has a Mastertape and Refuge. He finished off the first half of the set with "Ancestral".
The next set kicked off with the song "Arriving somewhere but not here" by Porcupine tree. He played a number of song from the Porcupine tree in this set including "Lazarus, Heartattack in the Layby and Sleep Together". Of course you could not go past his originals in this set which included "permanating" which he was very pleased about the fact that people didn't like this song. He also played "Song of I, Detonation and Vermillioncore.
As the crowd yelled at stamped their feet for one more song Steven came back on stage and play their encore. Steven went on to tell his fans how he didn't have a hit song and said he will play "what ever the f*** he wants"
Steven played finished off his set with "sound of muzak and Song of unborn". It was a great set and a unforgettable night and i reccomend you go to Steven Wilsons next show.
