Stellar Circuits
TM - Hi this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Stellar Circuits, Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
SC - Thank you.
TM - What can fans expect from your new album "Phantom : : Phoenix"?
SC - I would say expect the unexpected right now. We hope people listen to our new music. It always sounds like us but when we show people our new music they say it doesn't sound like what they expected. We hope everyone will check out our new music.
TM - What was your writing and recording process for "Phantom : : Phoenix"?
SC - We demo everything at home and we hash out all the instruments and vocals and then we go to an engineer and re-record. We try to bring the same energy every time. We worked with a different person for mixing and mastering. We send it off to them and then we got it back from then and we listened to it and tweaked some of it.
TM - Who designed your album cover for "Phantom : : Phoenix"?
SC - It is different every time. This time it was a guy who shared a video of himself listening to our music while painting. This time it was "Eloy Morales" and he does realism painting and he was a fan of our music. I connected with him and he was willing to work with us. We came up with an idea of wolves and he came up with an idea and we thought it was amazing.
TM - How did you come up with your video for "Bury The Ashes"?
SC - It came around pretty quickly. We went and hung out with our director for a few days and we tried some filming techniques and tried some different stuff. He has helped us put our stuff into a music video format over the years. It is a very simple music video compared to what we have done in the past. The actors and the videos were more D.I.Y. There is something about them that taps into our energy more as a band.
TM - What is your favourite song on your new album "Phantom : : Phoenix" ?
SC - when I am in different moods I feel like different songs hit my vibe. There are a couple of songs I like "Corridor and Paris". I would come back and listen to them again and again.
TM - Who was the first band or Artist you saw live and can you tell us a story?
SC - The first band that I saw alive was called "The Glass Casket" and that was before most of the members fromed the band "Between the Buried and Me". I remember that show. I was only fifteen and that really inspired me to play music.
SC - My first ever band that I saw was Van Halen and it definitely had a impact on me. My parents were into music and I didn't start playing music until my twenties. I like to think that made a big impact on me and we went to a lot of shows.
TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?
SC - My mind goes to a Mount Rushmore of different bands. There are a few "Tool" covers that I really love "No Quarter" is one of my favourite songs and I love how they covered it. If "Tool" were to cover one of our songs that would make my life.
SC - "London Grammar" always does paino covers. She did one of our songs. She always makes it sound so beautiful and sweet, so her doing one of our songs./
TM - If you could make your own music festival who would your three headline acts be?
SC - That would be pretty easy for me "Incubus, Deftones and Tool"
SC - For me it would be "Karnivool, Rage Against the Machine and Jimi Hendrix".
TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?
SC - Thank You for listening to us. We are always grateful, that people take time to check our stuff out.
TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
SC - Thank you.
