Twinmusix got to speak to Martin Lopez from Soen.

TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix, and we are here with Martin Lopez from Soen. Thank you for having this interview with us today, we appreciate it.

SN - Thank you for having me.

TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

SN - It will be awesome, we will be playing some of our music and connecting to our Australian fans. It is very special for us, and we are very excited.

TM - Are you doing anything in Australia?

SN - I know we are going to the koala park, so we are excited about that. I haven't been there in about 15 or 20 years. People have been waiting for years for us to come. We are excited to bring our show to Australia.

TM - What can fans expect from your setlist?

SN - We are going to try and play some songs from every album, because we haven't been there. We are going to try and focus on playing songs from our whole career.

TM - What is your favourite song to play live?

SN - It always changes, but at the moment my favourite song to play Live is "Discordia" from our new album. It is fun to play, and it is also Heavy.

TM - Do you have any pre-show rituals?

SN - There are three songs that I go between listening to, then I brush my teeth before I go out on stage.

TM - How have fans responded to your new album "Reliance"?

SN - It has been going great, the reviews are excellent, and people have been listening to us play it live.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for "Reliance"?

SN - It is always the same, I sit at home and write a bunch of material. Then we go through the songs and see what songs will go on our album. Then we choose the songs so the rest of the band can work on their parts.

TM - Who designed your album cover for "Reliance", and is there a meaning behind it?

SN - Le Nevralgie Costanti designed the artwork. He worked on the album cover and listened to the album. It is beautiful and scary, and it fits the music of the album.

TM - How did you come up with your video for "Indifferent"?

SN - We wanted a video for the song, and we were sitting with the label, and they wanted a video for Indifferent. We filmed it, and it turned out great.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs, what band would you choose? What song would you choose, and would it be in your style or their style?

SN - I would choose Pink Floyd, playing "Indifferent", in their style.

TM - If you could go back in a time machine and see any band live, who would you see?

SN - I would go back in time and see The Beatles; it would be awesome.

TM - Who was the first band or Artist you saw live, and can you tell us a story?

SN - I saw The Cult when I was 8 years old with my father, and I was overwhelmed by the volume and how cool the band was on stage.

TM - Did your parents support you?

SN - They were very supportive of my career choice, and they let me leave school when I was quite young. They let me train in music.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

SN - We are excited to come to Australia and see everyone, and play an epic live set.

TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today; we appreciate it.

SN - Thank you.
