The Original RHAPSODY members LUCA TURILLI and FABIO LIONE re-join forces to write and record a new album under Turilli / Lione RHAPSODY. It is the first time that they recorded their new music together in over 8 years. The band will be completed by former RHAPSODY members Dominique Leurquin, Patrice Guers and Alex Holzwarth.
In 2017 Luca and Fabio toured under RHAPSODY’s for the 20th Anniversary Farewell Tour which saw them reunite and return to the stage to perform classic RHAPSODY songs. After closing their RHAPSODY chapter and Luca Turilli’s RHAPSODY disbanding, the two friends kept in search of creative, original and innovative ways to express their artistic visions. Luca and Fabio started visualizing their new collaboration. In that creating a whole new generation of symphonic metal, enriched with modern elements typical to music productions they love so much. The excitement for their project grew with each passing day, so the men agreed to realize their vision under a new and clear band name: “Turilli / Lione RHAPSODY”.
Twinmusix got to speak to Luca from Turilli /Lione Rhapsody.
TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?
LT - We are really excited to come to Australia and it is our first time in 20 years. It has been our first possible opportunity to come over there. It is going to be amazing and incredible. The country is incredible the landscapes give us the inspiration to write lyrics of mother nature, natural landscapes, and creation. I have made whole albums about these subjects. When we come over there we really have the feeling of being in heaven and it is amazing. The fact that we get to meet our fans and play our music on top is just incredible.
TM - How did you come up with your set list?
LT - We will be playing a lot of our hits especially now that we have finished our farewell tour. We will not play some of the odd songs but we will play them for Australia because it is a place that we have never been to play. We will please old and new songs for the fans.
TM - What are you looking forward to doing most in Australia?
LT - I would love to see a koala because I love them and I would love to embrace one. I would also love to see a kangaroo, I have only seen them on TV.
TM - I love Kangaroos and Koala's, they are so cute. I am sure you can visit Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Do you like chocolate?
LT - Of course, I love chocolate, why are you asking me this?
TM - You have to try Tim Tams.
LT - What is that?
TM - It is two malted biscuits separated by a light chocolate cream filling and coated in a thin layer of chocolate. They are so good.
LT - OK, I will have to try it I will love it.
TM - You have released a song off your new album, how have fans responded?
LT - This is a debut album, so we consider it as the first album under a new name. Having a chance to continue our albums is amazing. We will be playing something new, we have new production and new elements. We have songs in the style of Queen and progressive elements like Dream Theatre, ethnic music, and electronic sounds symphonic elements. We sound like all the things I was listing for you.
TM - If you could have any bands play one of your songs, which band would it be, which song would it be, and would it be in your style or their Style?
LT - A band with a good guitar player is very difficult for me to think about this question.
TM - Is there anything else you would like to say to your fans?
LT - We excited to come to your country and play shows, We hope everyone comes along and enjoys the show.
