PARKWAY DRIVE, KILLSWITCH AND THY ART IS MURDER REVIEW

Thy Art Is Murder, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive played a sold out show at NEX in New Castle on Saturday night with such a killer lineup how could you not wait to see this show. Parkway Drive were celebrating their new album Reverence and we were ready to rock with them.

 

Thy Art Is Murder is an Australian Death Core band and they kicked off the night in true death core style, as they played songs from their back catalog which consists of eight CD'S they put on a unforgettable set that made you excited for Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive.

Killswitch Engage was up next and i was excited for this act. Killswitch kicked there set off with "Rose of Shryan" the fans were head banging and there was a massive mosh pit that opened up from the word go the atmosphere was great and you couldn't wait to hear the songs that followed. They proceed with songs from their extensive catalog including "The Hell In Me, Beyond The Flames, My Curse and Hate Design". Their performance was off the charts and it really got you geared up for the next act. Luckily Killswitch are performing in Sydney tomorrow night at the Metro, so if you haven't already you better pick up a ticket to that show too.

Next up was Parkway Drive, as the venue went dark you heard a voice over on the stage and the crowd started cheering with excitement, as the pyrotechnics began you knew you were in for one crazy show, three burst of flames light the venue you could only anticipate what was going to happen next. Parkway Drive came out on stage and the audience could barely contain themselves.

Parkway Drive kicked off their set with "Wishing Well" and everyone knew the lyrics to this song, they continued their set with hits both new and old and sang songs include "Vice Grip, The Void, Writings on the Wall and Wild Eyes". Parkway also apologized for being away from Australia for so long and told their fans that they were excited to be home, as the fans heard this they cheered and were excited to see one of their favorite bands live. 

Parkway Drive brought out a string quartet for a few of their songs and it was an amazing site to see, watch the video here:

Parkway Drive closed the night with a bang and performed "Crushed and Bottom Feeder", Not one fan wanted to leave the venue at the end of the night, as it was a fantastic show full of a Amazing lighting set up, pyrotechnics and a fantastic atmosphere full of energy and fun.
