TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix. We are here with Steffen from Obscura. Thank you for having this interview with us today; we appreciate it.

SN - This year, I am doing around 120 concerts in total, so it's going to be a lot. I haven't done that many concerts in a long time. But first, we are going to visit The NAMM Show in Los Angeles.

TM - When can we expect you back in Australia?

SN - Hopefully, we can come over next year on a longer tour. The last time we came, we only played two shows, one in Sydney and one in Melbourne. We also played one festival and one Sideshow. Next time we come to Australia, I would love to play more than two concerts. I would like to play Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and hop over to New Zealand again. That would be excellent.

TM - What can fans expect from your new album A Sonication?

SN - A new record that shows the sound that we have established over the last 20 years. Obviously, you don't want to repeat yourself so we added some new ideas. The production has changed and it is much more wall of sound and it is much easier to digest. Every time you listen to it you discover a tiny little detail. It is not only super fast, it is also mellow which keeps everything a bit more interesting. When you Listen to the album from start to finish there needs to be some storytelling and something interesting. If you like the previous albums that we have put out I think it is something that you might love. If you like metal it might be cool. Check out our catalogue of our records. It is a really strong record in my opinion.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for your new album A Sonication?

SN - We worked with Fredrik Nordström in Gothenburg Sweden in the same Studio that we recorded our previous album. We are also going to record our third album there. All three albums are based on a trilogy and A Sonication is the second album of that. It is important to maintain a certain sound in a certain time period for your band when it comes to songwriting. It is similar so most of the material has been written. We are working with notation programs like Guitar Pro. It is not the only technical part of writing music. There are a lot of demo recordings and we are trying to get Continuing parts. When you record and have everything written down you can reproduce it later.

TM - you said that it is a Trilogy, have you started writing that?

SN - Not yet, but when you give one album to the record label you think about recording the next album.

TM - How did you come up with your video for Silver Linings?

SN - When you watch the video it is related to the album concept. You see the brass and silver colours in the video and it is a transition from the previous album to this album. All the science fiction shots are in a silver and blue colour, so it is the previous album to the new one done with the video clip which is the opening track of the new album.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?

SN - At the moment I like Tribulation from Sweden. Opeth would also be a good call because we have similar vocals.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

SN - It is absolutely ridiculous how many people have been ordering vinyl from Australia. I am amazed and I would love to play more often down there. The flight is long and I think I still have jet lag from the last time I was down there.

TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

SN - Thank you.
