METAL CHURCH REVIEW

As Saturday night rolled in we got to rock out to an awesome trifecta of metal bands. Temtris, Killrazer and Metal Church. Each band killed their sets at the Crowbar as we got to see every metal classic.

Temtris was first up, and the fast tempo opener quenched the crowd’s thirst as everyone was ready to rock. As Temtris stormed the stage, the crowd were ready and rearing to go. They kicked off the set with Khaos Divine, and Genevieve nailed her vocals and enticed the crowd to get fired up. As they continued with Forever, One For All and Lies Become The Truth, Genevieves vocals were perfect and edgy, the engaging riffs and impressive bass lines filled the room and the drums beat made your head bang. Temtris finished out their set with Evolution of Hate, and Race To The End we were sad to see them leave the stage, except we were ready for more.

Killrazer delivered absolute masterpieces as they played The Legions, Salt In The Wound, and Theatre of War, which shows they have the mix of thrash and death metal down to a fine art . The fast and thrashy bone-crushing drums echoed through the room, and the heavy guitar lines filled the venue as Killrazer continued to play Suicide Command, Unleash Hell and Sunken, but the night wasn't over yet, we couldn't wait for this trifecta.

Next up was the act we had been waiting for Metal Church. As they walked on stage the Audience screamed and their horns went up in the air. Metal Church kicked off their set with Ton of Bricks, Start The Fire, Battalions and God's of Wrath. The blend of thrash, power, melody, groove, and grit blew our minds. The powerful screams and steady riffing break harsh speeds.

As Metal Church continued with Pick A God Prey, Congeratin, Burial At Sea, Psycho and Watch Children Play, we were getting hammered by wicked, thunderous riffs and Metal Church’s singer Marc Lopes performed with a balance of grit and melody that showed us he possesses a distinct personality of metal.

The instrumentation is solid as this spectacular set continued with Fake Healer, Badlands, Hitman and Beyond Black. The metal riffing was so iconic and the blistering drum work was next level.

As the show came to an end, we left energized and encouraged that Metal Church had risen from the depths of tragedy, found a great new singer, and were back to blow our minds. The crowd was remarkable, and enthusiastic, and the bond of heavy metal was strong.
