Twinmusix Chat With Karl Willetts From Memoriam About Their New Album And More

What can fans expect from your new album "The Silent Vigil"?

Our new album is a massive step forward. I think one year on from our debut album we have galvanised ourselves as a band, and formed and identity as musicians. Our first album was great but we were trying to find a different style of music.

You got signed by Nuclear Blast, how did this come about?

we got approached from a member of the label,  when they found out what we were doing. A few record labels approached us but we wanted to sign to Nuclear Blast, As we had only heard good things about them.

Who writes the music in your band and what's the recording process?

Majority of the music comes from Mr Scott Fairfax, he writes a lot of the music then he shoots it over to us and we have a listen and pick up the bits that we really like. When we go to recording whale puts his signature drum parts on the songs, then I write the lyrics.

How did you come up with your album cover for "The Silent Vigil"?

We approached Dan with an idea for the first album. We had an idea where three album covers tell a story, the first two album covers have been released and the third one should be released for the next album.

If you could have any band play one of your songs which band, which song and in your style or theirs?

Our song Last words by Killing Joke.

Anything else you want to announce to your fans?

we are very appreciative of the support that we get, hopefully we come to Australia Soon.
