HOKKA

TM - Hi this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with HOKKA, thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

HA - Thank you for having me.

TM - What can fans expect from your new album "Via Miseria IV"?

HA - It is our debut album for our bands that we started one year ago. It is a pleasure to release a new album and get it out to the world. I would say it's a reimagined version of finnish rock music in 2026.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for "Via Miseria IV"?

HA - We started writing the music last summer and then we went to the studio in September and we wraped it up in December. It was a busy year as the album was mixed and Mastered but we are very happy with the outcome.

TM - How did you come up with your Album cover for "Via Miseria IV"?

HA - I painted it myself. I thought we should have a real painting. It is basically self-imagined and my own vision of what the art should look like. I painted myself with a red cape and that's how it came together.

TM - How did you come up with your video for "In The Darkness"?

HA - It is an origin story of HOKKA. It has the warrior sensei and a sword ceremony so we wanted to capture and visualise how it all started with this band and I think it worked. It is me in the beginning in the chains trying to break free and when I was finally free I got to meet my future and we rocked together.

TM - You have your debut headline show coming up, what can fans expect?

HA - They can expect the story of the whole journey that we are about to begin. I am excited and I hope everyone else is excited. It is going to be really fun, it is a new beginning and its a start.

TM - Who was the first band or Artist you saw live can you tell us a story?

HA - Children Of Bodom in my own town in 2008, I was fourteen years old and I went with some friends. Then later I went to see In Flames, and that was a mind-blowing experience. I was a big fan and I still am a fan.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?

HA - Oli Sykes would be awesome. I met him once and he is a really nice dude. I feel like he could really add something to our sound. I would also choose Tobais Forge from Ghost. I am a big fan. I have been listening to all his interviews and listening to all his albums, I am deep into it.

TM - what was the last song that you listened to that someone else wrote?

HA - I think I heard a song in the grocery store this morning, it was "Murder On The Dance Floor".

TM - Do you draw inspiration from every genre of music?

HA - I am a big fan of early 2000's music. I am living in a fantasy world of it. I listen to Pop and rock and metal the early 2000's has a special place in my heart because it is my childhood. I hope one day I can go back in a time machine to 2001 and experience the music.

TM - If you could travel back to 2001 who would you see live?

HA - I would see Linkin Park or Eminem they are my childhood idols.

TM - If you could collaborate with any artists who would it be and why?

HA - Billie Eilish would be interesting to collaborate a song with.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

HA - We hope to come to Australia one day. We hope you like our new album "Via Miseria IV" and see everyone soon.

TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

HA - Thank you.
