Hanabie. Review
Hanabie. and The Gloom In The Corner played at Liberty Hall on Sunday night and the venue was packed out and was buzzing with excitement.
The Gloom In The Corner is a Metalcore band from Melbourne and they opened up the night with powerful bass lines, heavy choruses, aggressive breakdowns and pounding drums brought moshing from the word go. As The Gloom In The Corner unleashed their highly energetic set on the crowd they continued with "The Jericho Protocol and Bleed You Out" and the crushing vocals and melodic guitar riffs shined through on every song. The massive bass drops set a fun mood of excitement in the crowd that made us want more. As they finished off their set they proved that they could perform a perfect set with pristine perfection.
It was the long awaited return of Hanabie. from when they performed at Good Things Festival and we got to watch a Japanese nu metalcore band from Tokyo play last night at Liberty Hall. As the lights dimmed, the crowd erupted and Yukina on harsh vocals and clean vocals, Matsuri on guitar and clean vocals, Hettsu on bass and backing vocals and Chika on drums hit the stage.
We were immediately stunned as Hanabie. colourful fashion, which is found in the streets of Tokyo set a colourful mood for the night. As Hanabie. hooked us in they played the perfect opening songs "O•TA•KU Lovely Densetsu, NEET GAME and Kotoshi koso Gal~Shoka ver.~" and the crushing and dense bass guitar lines worked in with the brutal drums and caused a stir in the venue.
Hanabie continued their set with "Metamorphose!, Ware Amatou and Reiwa Matching-sedai" the harsh vocals and clean vocals and edgy guitar riffs captivated the crowd and sent them into overdrive.
The headbanging continued and we got thrown into the next powerful songs and Hanabie. delivered "Tales of Villain, Genkai Numa Life and GIRL'S TALK" and the enchanting musical experience continued. As Hanabie continued with "Warning!!, SUNRISE Miso-SOUP, TOUSOU and Osaki ni Shitsurei Shimasu." the band showcased their impeccable skills and the lyrics of every song was echoing through the venue. As you looked into the crowd it was a fierce site to see and we got to witness relentless moshing and a wall of death.
