The band has recorded five studio albums Aquarius in 2010, Visions in 2011, The Mountain in 2013, Affinity in 2016 and Vector in2018.

We got to speak to Ross Jennings about Hakens upcoming album and more.

TM - Hi, This is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix. Thank You for having this interview with us today. How are you?

RJ - Good Thank You, How are you and where are you two from?

TM - We are Good, Thank You. We are from Sydney.

RJ - Sydney is fantastic.

TM - What is your favorite thing to do in Sydney?

RJ - One of the guys we started Haken lives in Sydney, he got married about two years ago so I came over there and went over to the Blue Mountains, it was lovely to see. When we get over there we have 5 shows back to back, so we are not going to have a chance to see anything or do anything. Hopefully, one time when we finish off in Sydney, we will be able to stay for a couple of extra days.

TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

RJ - We are promoting our latest album Vector, fans can expect a lot of that material. You can expect a classic rock and roll Haken show with programmed lights.

TM - How did you come up with your set list for this show?

RJ - When we pick a setlist we normally gravitate to songs that we know are going to strike a chord with the fans. We try and play songs from our whole discography and try and keep it pretty balanced if we can.

TM - How have fans responded to your new album "Vector"?

RJ - It has been received pretty well for us, we have no clue how it is being received in Australia. I guess we will find out when we play it, but I think people are receiving it well.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for Your new Album "Vector"?

RJ - We are all in different parts of the world, we can't get together, so we share our ideas online. We all write and share ideas for our music and when we all find something that we are happy with, then we go with that we started writing. Part of this album was written in Australia, In our hotel rooms, when you hear "The Good Doctor" you will know we started writing that in a hotel room in Sydney.

TM - How did you come up with the idea for the song "The Good Doctor"?

RJ - The good doctor is set in the 1950s in a psychiatric ward, the album is set in that time. We looked at all the experiments that they use to do on people back in those days. The good doctor was based on that stuff.

TM - That sounds like interesting lyrical content and would have been fascinating to study.

RJ - It was interesting to study.

TM - How did you come up with your Album cover for "Vector"?

RJ - The Rorschach experiment was used to decipher people's personalities and what was going on in their mind. My interpretation of the Rorschach is you can take on a meaning of music totally different to someone else.

TM - You brought out alive DVD last year what can parents expect from that if they haven't seen or heard about it?

RJ - It was our ten year anniversary of being a band, that it was filmed in 2017. We recorded our first demo in 2007 so it was a nice landmark. It was fun, there is a track from every album on that and there is a show from the USA as well. There is a lot of great material and it is a great entry point for people who don't know the band.

TM - If you could have any bands play one of your songs which band would it be which song would it be and would it be in your style or their Style?

RJ - karnivool playing the Cockroach King in their style or AC/DC playing one of our songs in their style.

TM - If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be and why?

RJ - Slash because I could learn some stuff from him.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

RJ - Come to our show and hear some of our new songs and we can't wait.

TM - Thank you so much for this interview today, we really appreciate it and cannot wait to see you in Sydney.
