Twinmusix got to speak to Dennis from Ghost Bath.

TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix, and we are here with Dennis from Ghost Bath, Thank you for having this interview with us today, we appreciate it.

DS - Thank you.

TM - How have fans responded to your new album "Rose Thorn Necklace"?

DS - So far, the response has been pretty good and pretty positive. It seems like people are enjoying it.

TM - What was your writing and recording process?

DS - I would wake up at two, three or four pm, roll out of bed, and walk over to my office, work on the album and write and record it. I usually worked on it for about ten or twelve hours a day. Then I would get too tired and fall to sleep at five or six in the morning and wake up and do it again. I did it for a couple of months.

TM - What's your favourite song on your new album "Rose Thorn Necklace"?

DS - My favourite song is "Rose Thorn Necklace", I like the Riff that I came up with and the cord changes, and I think it turned out well.

TM - How did you come up with your Album cover?

DS - Normally, I find pieces of art that are already done. I don't commission pieces for the album. Once I have the concept and the name, and the songs done, I Google and look on Instagram, I continuously look until I find something that fits. I found the artwork and I liked this style of it, and the colours stuck out to me.

TM - How did you come up with your video for "Well, I Tried Drowning"?

DS - Our guitarist John, wrote the main concept for it. It is more of a grittier video, like VHS style and hand held camera style. I think his basic idea was a circular thing where depression and addiction catch up with you. I wasn't behind that one, so that was the basic concept I got from it.

TM - How did you come up with your video for "Rose Thorn Necklace"?

DS - I did that video with my friend who is in a different band. It was his very first music video that he ever did. He drove down to Pittsburgh, and we built the entire set in the garage. We used PVC pipe and plastic, we put it together and tried to come up with the coolest shots that we could. They seemed good at making it clean and polished. We went with that, and I tried to come up with poetic or beautiful looking shots for that.

TM - What's your favourite memory with your fans?

DS - We just went down to Mexico City to play a black metal festival. It was an all day festival, and there was a meet and greet. A bunch of people came in and got some stuff signed and some photographs, and there were a bunch of Mexican bands that played first. As soon as they got done and the international bands started playing, the promoter got on the microphone and cut the sound and said everyone needs to get out, the police are here, and they are rading the whole place and you have to leave now. No one else could come in, and my whole band was outside and couldn't come in. I had to pack everything myself and try and get it out because they said the cops would take our stuff.

We stuffed all our stuff in a van and I pulled away. We went back to our hotel, but the cool part is they found another venue that same day, and everything got moved there. It was getting completely packed, and there were hundreds of people in line at the new venue. I have never seen anything like that before were something gets moved to the other side of the city, but we did end up playing a really good show.

TM - Who was the first band or Artist you saw live, and can you tell us a story?

DS - I grew up in North Dakota, and it is a tiny state, and there are not many concerts. The first concert, I went to was in town, and I lived on an air force base. My dad took me to my first concert, and I was 12-years-old and the first band that came up was a cover band. They covered Nirvana, and they covered it well, and it was sick.

TM - Did that influence you to play music, or were you already playing?

DS - At at time I was already playing. I think it was the radio that influenced me to play, that's why I wanted to play guitar. I used to fall asleep to alternative rock music in the nineties, and I went to bed thinking I wanted to play guitar.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs, what band would it be, what song would it be, and would it be in your style or their style?

DS - I would probably have System of a Down play any of our songs. I would like to see them play "Rose Thorn Necklace" in their style, because I would like to see what they would do with it.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

DS -
Come out to a show and talk to me or buy me a drink.

TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

DS - Thanks for having me.
