TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Grant, thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

GT - Thank you.

TM - You are coming to Australia what can fans expect?

GT - We can't wait to come back it has been 14 years. I can't believe it has been so long so if you are a fan you can come and see our show, because who knows it might take another 14 years to come back. We are going to do some stuff from our album Black/Red, it is our first double album and we will do some of our classics as well so it will be a mix of our albums. We just want to rock out and have fun and play some songs and we have so many songs now it is tricky to pick a setlist.

TM - What's your favourite song to play live?

GT - I love rocking out to some of the heavy stuff. There is a song called ELF on the new album we open with sometimes. I enjoy playing that song, it is new and it has a Prog rock feel to it. I also like playing classic songs like "High" and "Just the Way I'm Feeling" is a good live song. I like playing some of the old school songs as well, they stand up and feel like they have a place in our setlist.

TM - Is there anything you want to see or do in Australia?

GT - It is hard to pick one thing that I want to do in Australia. I just want to go to the City's again and play, its nice we are going to be travelling around and I can't wait.

TM - How did fans respond to your new album Black/Red?

GT - We got a good response, one of the best responses we have ever had. Our last album "Torpedo" also had a good response, it is kind of like a trilogy in a sort of way because all these songs were written around the same period and I had so many songs that I was like let's go for the double album why not as long as the song is good and not too long. It is our first double album but we did it as two separate albums. The two albums are very connected so you could just listen to one CD or listen to them both back to back. It wasn't one continuous CD so you could have a break in the middle like an interlude.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for Black/Red?

GT - I write most of it on acoustic guitar where I am sitting now in my kitchen and then I have a studio and we do most of the Feeder stuff there besides drums. Then I go into my studio and build on it from there and then Taka will come here or he will do some bass at home where he lives up north and then he will send me the track of the bass back, that is how we work.

TM - Are you working on any new music?

GT - There was a album worth left even after this double album and they are almost all recorded besides two. I don't know what we are going to do with those songs. We can either put out a new album with that stuff or take some time and enjoy playing this album and try and play it in different places around the world and see if we can build our fan bases up or we could release a mini album or some eps. It is nice to break the album side cool and give some different stuff in between.

TM - Do you write on the road?

GT - I sometimes write on the road. I write some lyrics in hotel rooms if I was out on the road for a long time I would write a lot more but when you're only out for three or four weeks it is a bit intense. When I am writing I tend to sing a lot so when I am out on tour I Could Sing for three or four hours a night so I like to save my voice. I don't do as much writing on tour it as other artists might do.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?

GT - I would like to hear someone like Jack White do a song from our new album maybe "Playing With Fire", he could do it in a Seven Nation Army type of style, I can imagine him doing it with a crazy distorted vocal.

TM - What was the first band or Artist you saw live and can you tell us a story?

GT - Besides school bands the first ever propper band I saw live was in Bristol, it is called Bristol Beacon and it was one of the big rock places and we are going to be playing their soon, It is a nice venue. It was either Ozzy Osbourne the Diary of a madman tour with Randy Rhodes he was a very iconic guitar player and tipped to be Van Halen in a sort of way I remember idolizing him and then he was gone or Def Leppard on the High and Dry tour.

TM - Did they Inspire you to play live?

GT - Just hearing a band through the PA and hearing the drums was amazing, you could go right up to this stage because there was no barrier. Just hearing a band mic'd up through the PA was amazing. I was already playing guitar and I was in a little school band and the power of it compared to my little school band was inspiring and it was a big influence on me. I think seeing any band in that period is the reason I'm still doing it.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

GT - we can't wait to come back to Australia, it has been far too long. I can't wait to get back so come on and see us because we don't know when we will come back but if they want us back we will come back, come and see us, it will be a fun mix of new albums and our old albums it will be classic feeder we are going to rock.

TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

GT - Thank you.
