Twinmusix got to speak to Dan Beehler from Exciter about their upcoming Australia tour and more.

TM - What can expect from your Australian tour?

DB - We are going to do songs from our first four albums, we can play stuff from our fourth album which was Unveiling the Wicked album. Now that we have Daniel Dekay in the band we are looking forward to it. I am loking forward to playing with Venom Inc and the fact that Exciter have never been to Australia is pretty cool too.

TM - What are you most looking forward to doing in Australia?

DB - Meeting our fans and playing these shows. I am not a big tourist, I know it's a beautiful country and I will get see a lot of it going in and out but it will be a great show. We have wanted to play there since 1983, so it's going to be a great show.

TM - If you get a chance go down to Frankie's Pizza it's an awesome rock Bar in Sydney. They sell pizza and Alcohol and play rock and metal music.

DB - I might go and check it out if I have time.

TM - You played 70,000 tons of metal with the original line-up, how was that?

DB - It was awesome to play on a ship that was 24/7 it was super professional and a league of heavy metal and drinking. It was crazy, it was like a dream. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Have you been on one?

TM - No I haven't been on a cruise ship. I keep on going back to my favourite festival, Hellfest. Except 70,000 tons and Monsters Of Rock are on m bucket list. You are playing Hellfest this year, what are you most looking forward to?

DB - The size of Hellfest is massive. It is pretty cool to have the opportunity to play that festival. Exciter is big in France and are honored to play Hellfest.

TM - What is your favourite song to perform live?

DB - Violence And Force because of the crowd participation.

TM - You just released all your early albums on other media platforms to make it easier for your fans to find it, what made you want to do that?

DB - Our fans couldn't find the old albums, All the albums out there were from the John Ricci error which wasn't the original Exciter. It was confusing because people who don't know anything about heavy metal were coming up to us and saying "Is that you guys" and we were said "No". We took the confusion away from it.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be what song would it be and in your style or their style?

DB - I would like to see Judas Priest doing our song pounding metal in their Style.

We were talking to Judas Priest at Sweden Rock a few years ago and we talked to Rob Halford. He knew exactly who we were we got our name from one of his songs.

TM - If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be and why?

DB - Probably Manowar because it would be one of the heaviest things on earth.

The first time I met Joey was in 1984 when we toured with them in a couple of metal festivals in 86. I was a huge Manowar fan before that but when I saw them it was just breathtaking. I have never seen anything that phone crushing heavy in my life and Eric Adams is just an amazing singer they are amazing live.

TM - What is your favourite memory from touring with another band?

DB - I toured with Motorhead in 1984 and because I love volume I would go and stand in the pit right in front of the speakers and rock my head with volume every night.

In the early days we listened to Accept albums like Restless and Balls To The Wall. We played the shit out of those albums and to get to tour with them was pretty incredible.

TM - They did one show in Melbourne Australia and I flew down to Melbourne and hung out with them they are nice guys.

DB - Super nice guys.

TM - I brought them Tim Tams as well if you haven't tried Tim Tams you have to try them

DB - What are Tim Tams?

TM - It is a chocolate biscuit with this chocolate layer on the outside and chocolate filling in the middle.

DB - It sounds good and especially in France.

TM - Bruges and Brussels have the best chocolate.

DB - I heard chocolate from Switzerland is pretty good.

TM - When I try it from Switzerland, I will let you know.

DB - Sounds good. Belgium chocolate you pay a lot of money for that chocolate here and Canada.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

DB - We are excited to come to Australia and we have never been there before. We are looking forward to coming down and playing with Venom Inc.

TM - Thank You for this interview, We cannot wait to have you in Australia.
