ESCAPE THE FATE REVIEW
Liberty Hall was packed on Friday night from the moment the doors opened, and fans were eager for a huge night of post-hardcore, metalcore and hard rock. The evening kicked off with The Gloom In The Corner, followed by The Word Alive, and Escape The Fate closed out the night with a high energy headline set.
The Gloom In The Corner wasted no time getting the crowd moving as they kicked off the night with a thunderous set. Mikey commanded the stage from the opening of their first song, and they delivered powerful screams and intense energy that drew the fans in. Jesse filled the room with crushing riffs and soaring leads, while Paul locked everything together with a deep, heavy groove. Joshua was behind the kit, and he drove the band's set with precision and fierce beats as he kept the set rolling. The set was filled with power, and the crowd responded enthusiastically throughout their performance. They got us amped up for The Word Alive and Escape The Fate.
The energy continued to build when The Word Alive hit the stage. As they kicked off their set with "2012 and Trapped", Tyler had the crowd singing along from the first note, and he effortlessly switched between melodic vocals and aggressive screams. The hits kept coming as the band brought us "Eyes Above and Misery", and Jose delivered a tight, technical performance, creating a massive wall of sound that filled Liberty Hall. Logan brought a forceful punch, as the set went into overdrive with "Heartless and Casanova Rodeo" and the Devin kept the set moving with explosive rhythms and relentless energy. The set closed with "One Of Us, Lethal Dose and Life Cycles", and it was a fun filled, masterful set filled with circle pits and crowd surfers.
Escape The Fate took the stage, and the atmosphere inside Liberty Hall had reached another level. Craig immediately had the crowd in the palm of his hand, as he kicked off the set with "Ungrateful, Deja Vu, Gorgeous Nightmare and 10 Miles Wide" as he led the singalong hits, the fans screamed every word back at the stage. Matti delivered a mix of sharp riffs, soaring solos and huge choruses as the set turned up a notch and we got to rock out to "The Flood, Ashley, Broken Heart and Cheers to Goodbye". Erik provided a powerful backbone throughout the set, while Robert thundered through every song with incredible intensity.
The band's setlist was packed with legendary tracks, including "Idle Potential, Low, and Last Goodbye and Paranoia", and every song was met with huge cheers, with fans singing along from the front barrier all the way to the back of the room. As Matti broke into his Blistering Guitar Solo, the fans cheered for more, then the rest of the band joined him to play "Halo 2 Theme", and it made the crowd excited for more.
