DYNAZTY Nile
TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Nile from DYNAZTY, thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
NZ - Thank you for having me.
TM - How did fans respond to your new album "Game Of Faces"?
NZ - It has been amazing to see the response to this album in general, people have been excited about it. There have been some people who have been like I like the previous album more or this is my favourite album and this is your best album. I have listened to it non-stop since it was released it has been very exciting to see people's reactions and have this album out it has been quite a long time in the making so it feels good.
TM - What was your writing and recording process for "Game Of Faces"?
NZ - It was different from the last album "Final Advent" that we wrote during the pandemic. This one we wrote coming out of the pandemic. We have spent a lot of time on the road the past few years so we have to write in between tours and when we had some time off from other stuff. We might write for a couple of weeks then have some time off writing, and then start writing again which is a little different from how we have done it in the past. It worked out fantastically so it's just a different experience of writing.
TM - You are going on tour what can fans expect?
NZ - They can expect one of the best DYNAZTY shows so far that is what we are aiming for. We are going to play a set of our best material suited for a live concert. There will also be a few surprises in the set and we are looking forward to trying out some new material on this tour so we are looking forward to it.
TM - Do you have a favourite song to play live?
NZ - It is a blast to play some of the songs that we use to close these sets like "Presence of Mind" and "Heartless Madness" It gets the crowd going and it is a blast to play live.
TM - How did you come up with your Album cover and is there a meaning behind it?
NZ - The album cover is by Gustavo Sazes and he has done he has done all our artwork for at least the past four albums, He is an amazing guy. I think the idea of the album cover I originally had was about this a person with a mask and taking off a mask revealing another mask underneath it. It is his craft and handy work which makes the album cover look amazing and it is the coolest album cover so far. The title track behind it "Game Of Faces" deals with the topic of the deceptive nature of human beings and how people can wear different faces in different situations and circumstances. We found something that would visually excitingly show this.
TM - How did you develop your video for "Game Of Faces"?
NZ - It was a different spin on the video. We wanted to try something that we hadn't tried before and to try this theme and spin further on the idea of what is real what is not real and can you tell if something is real or something is fake and what happened with the video is some people couldn't tell if it was animated or not or weather it was makeup that was the idea to spin feather on that topic.
TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs, what band would it be what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?
NZ - This is just off the top of my head because I am listening to the new Dream Theatre album that was released two weeks ago, so let's have Dream Theatre do our song "Heartless Madness" that would be interesting.
TM - Who was the first band or Artist you saw live as a kid and can you tell us a story?
NZ - The first bands I saw live was some random Swedish acts when I was a kid. The first real concert I went to was the Scorpions in Sweden which was amazing. I was about 13 or 14 and I had waited all my life to see a real rock concert. I think the biggest thing for me was when I went to the Swedish rock festival, nowadays it is a pretty big rock and metal festival that is in Sweden, I think it has been going on for almost 25 or 30 years. When I got there, a lot of people had the type of enthusiasm for the music that I had which was amazing in itself to see. All these people have the same musical taste and to see all these classic bands like Accept and Motley Crue and it was just incredible for me as a 15 or 16-year-old at that point.
TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?
NZ - If you haven't already check out our new album "Game Of Faces" and hope to see you on tour as soon as possible.
TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
NZ - Thank You.
