DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL
A whole world of events awaits us in England; we are excited to travel from Sydney Australia for Download festival. Download festival draws fans from all around the world to be at a three day rock festival with some of the best bands in the world.
Download festival started in 2003 at Donington Park with 2 stages and the headline acts were Audioslave and Iron Maiden. Download festival was so successful in the first year it came back for a second year and they added a third stage.
In 2009 Download Festival expanded again with a second main stage and a fourth stage known as “the Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage” which allowed download festival to bring in acts such as Killswitch Engage, Korn, & Mötley Crüe, who played to over 25,000 fans.
By 2013 Download Festival was pulling over 90,000 people, this is the biggest crowd that download festival has seen to date, and the 5th biggest Britain has seen in rock history.
Download festival has seen many outrageous nights over the years, chief amongst them is the birth of Sliptallica!. This glorious abomination was a joining of Slayers Dave Lombardo, Slip Knot’s Joey Jordison, and Flemming Larsen from Metallica who played nearly a full set together when Metallica was left without a drummer.
I’m looking forward to listening to Ugly Kid Joe rocking the stage, I remember reading my older brothers Spider-Man comics when I was little and seeing their Album art on the pages in between the stories, the Statue of Liberty never looked so good! Now so many years later I get to see them live!
