TM - Hi this is Elizabeth and Harrison from Twinmusix and we are here with Nail from Devilskin, how are you?

NL - Fabulous, how about yourself? How are you going?

TM - We are good, can’t complain too much. You are coming to Australia, what can fans expect?

NL - Those who haven't seen us play in Australia before will see a ripping rock show like we always do. We will bring our A-Game and our thunderous bass rifts. We have awesome drums, raunchy guitar tones and a devilish singer.

TM - What can fans expect from your setlist?

NL - There's no way I can tell you what's going to be on our setlist, you just have to come to this show and find out. It is a monster though we have been rehearsing and we have another rehearsal in the morning and the set is coming in really really good. There is a good mix of songs from across all of our catalogues so everyone will be in for a treat.

TM - You haven't been to Australia for a year.

NL - We can't wait to see our family and friends, it has been too long.

TM - Australia and New Zealand are like cousins we are always happy to have you come down under.

NL - Yeah I was just talking to someone about the Australian crowds and the Kiwi crowds and how similar they are. They all like to have a drink and have a good time, everyone is on an even playing field when it comes to the Aussies and the Kiwis.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song and in your style or their style?

NL - I would say it would have to be Black Sabbath.

TM - Is it Ozzy Black Sabbath or Dio Black Sabbath.

NL - It would be Ozzy Black Sabbath and they would have to cover it their way and they can do any song they like.

TM - You haven't brought out a new album in a while are you working on any new music?

NL - Yes we are currently writing flat out between rehearsals. We are throwing files around obviously through COVID it changed the song writing process for us, we weren’t allowed to sit in a room together and bash out riffs so it really changed the way that we do things. Obviously we have recording setups at home so we were writing songs at home and emailing them back and forward to each other and constructing these songs differently. It was the only way you could do it to move forward but we have moved on from that and we are getting quite good at it now. It's a good way to write songs and it's an interesting process and once you have these songs down you get in a room together and bash them out. It is still cool to get in a room and bash out some tunes together you can't beat that. Hopefully it will be out by next year, 2024.

TM - Well we can't wait to hear your new album. What advice would you give young musicians that want to make music in the future?

NL - Don't give up, keep pushing believe in your art and believe in what you are doing. Keep on doing what you are doing, don't wait for something to happen for you get out there and make it happen yourself.

TM - Thank you so much that is some of the best advice I have heard.

NL - No one was backing us when we started out. We booked our own gigs and pushed to get people in the door. Our families were involved in helping do everything like printing CDs and selling merchandise. Everyone pitched in and it was a lot of hard work. We are excited to play Froth and Fury Festival and Lagerfest too.

TM - What song do you like playing on stage and what song don't you like playing on stage?

NL - I think we all have our favourites that we'd like to play live constructing a set list is like trying to pick your favourite child, we are all attached in different ways to different songs. We all have our personal favourites and we all try to accommodate each other when we are trying to put together a set list.

TM - Do you have any international gigs for Europe planned for next year?

NL - Not at the moment, we are just concentrating and releasing the album and then we will look at European and International dates.

TM - Anything else you want to say to your fans?

NL - Devilskin is pumped to get back to Australia it has been too long, we miss you guys and we can't wait to get back to there so we will see you guys very soon from the stage.
