Twinmusix chat with Schirmer from destruction about their Australian tour and more

What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

We have a long 36 years behind us, I think the setlist we have these days is full of classics and full of history. I know a lot of people will be waiting for the old songs and we have a lot of classics that we will play.

You mentioned the media several times in your 2015 album, how do you distinguish yourself from the bad parts of the media?

We are all addicted to the internet. A

Facebook scandal can show us how we're all fooled somehow. It is great to talk to the media and told to our fans and three chat.

What's your opinion on Spotify and YouTube how do you reckon it's affected the music industry?

Its affects bands they don't make any money anymore, but the promotion side of it is great.

What stage gear do you use?

Vintage Ampeg classic, Ampeg Di pedal, Michael our guitarist is using no noise on his guitar he's just using a gate to cut the noise. Just basic gear.

If you could have any band play one of your songs which band would which song and in your style or theirs?

Judas Priest playing curse the gods in their style.

Can you tell us a tour story?

Our first show with Motorhead in 1986. We were in our dressing room and there was knocking at the door, I open the door and Lemmy was standing there and he said "Hey guys, I am lemmy, you guys got something to drink" as he walks into the room he sees no drinks. He leaves then 5 minutes later Lemmy steps into the room with a case of Becks beer in his hands and puts it on the table and says I hate it when our support bands don't have anything to drink, cheers and walks out of the room.

For Thrash  albums 1_1 how did you come up with your album cover?

Our album design was based off our first record.

You did a cover of "Venoms Black Metal" Why did you choose this song?

We only cover bands that are really influential to us and important from our youth like Motorhead, Saxon and Tank. We covered it at rock and Rio and ever since then people ask us if we could record it and play it live.

What's your favourite show you've ever seen live?

I saw Judas Priest at a small club in Switzerland and after the show they came out to the barriers and sign signatures and met their fans.

Anything else you want to announce to your fans?

we have come to Australia twice before and had a great time so for us it's a big highlight to come to Australia.
