D-A-D REVIEW

 

D-A-D and The Dark Clouds electrified Sydney at the Manning Bar last night with a roaring rock masterclass in high-energy rock 'n' roll.

​

The Dark Clouds are a rock band from Wollongong, and they opened up the night with "Trance, RNR Queen and Flak", and the infectious energy spread through the room while the Powerful Vocals and catchy melodies pumped through our veins. As the set continued with "Senorita, Nightlife and After Sun" the thunderous drumming echoed through the venue with a driving beat, and the upbeat guitar and the rocking choruses were intoxicating.

As the set concluded with "OOO and Milex" the captivating bass and guitar lines hooked you in and brought vibrant jams to the stage that got us ready for D-A-D.

D-A-D stormed the stage, and they opened the night with "Jihad, Girl Nation, Speed of Darkness and Reconstrucdead", and they provided their hits from almost four decades of music. As they played, they possessed raw power and infectious enthusiasm, and it captivated the fans.

Jacob Binzer's iconic guitar riffs cut through the air as D-A-D continued with "Soft Dogs, Grow or Pay, Riding With Sue and The Ghost"and frontman Jesper Binzer commanded the stage effortlessly with his soaring vocals, and Laust Sonne played the drums and was a powerhouse behind the kit.

As D.A.D. continued with favourites including "Keep That Mother Down, Point of View and Rim of Hell" the crowd sang along at the top of their lungs and the beats ripped through the venue like dynamite. As Stig Pedersen played the Bass Guitar the thunderous rhythm spread through the room and displayed his relentless energy.

While Classics like "Everything Glows and Bad Craziness" ignited massive sing-alongs, and deeper cuts showcased the band's versatility and songwriting powers. The strong vocals, solid guitar, catchy hooks, pounding drums, powerful riffs and blazing bass brought an infectious vibe.

As D-A-D walked off stage, the crowd cheered for more. D-A-D walked back on stage and they played "God Prays To Man, Laugh 'n' a ½, Sleeping My Day Away and It's After Dark" and as the final chords rang out, we were sad to see them go. D-A-D left the Sydney crowd exhilarated, It was clear that D-A-D had delivered a truly memorable performance. The setlist was a well-crafted journey through the D-A-D discography. If you have the chance to witness D-A-D live, do not hesitate, it is an experience that will leave you buzzing long after the final cymbal crashes and the last riff plays.
