Twinmusix got to speak to Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation about the upcoming Australia tour and more.

TM - Hi Ryan, Thank you for taking this interview today. How are you?

TR - Good, how are you?

TM - Good, Thank You. How is your day going?

TR - Good we have a lot of stuff lined up and getting ready for a lot of stuff like Australia. We have a sow in LA first and then we will be flying out there so the guys will be out here soon with the tour. Our album is out and there is no time for anything it has been crazy.

TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

TR - We will be doing songs from the new album that's for sure and stuff that people like from our old albums. We were going to be conducting fundraisers for Wildlife Sanctuary Australia as Australia got hit pretty hard and that's been taking up a bunch of our time as well. We felt really strange to come over there and not help out, we have looked into organisations that we could help out a hundred percent of the profit from the Meet and Greet goes to them as well. Australia's going to be great and we are very fortunate that we are able to come over there so hopefully we can get people to come out and help people take them mind off stuff for a while and have a good time.

TM - That is awesome with you for doing all of that.

TR - Australia is one of my favourite places to play and I am very fortunate to come down and play for everyone.

TM - We are excited that you are coming to Australia and cannot wait to see you here.

TM - You brought out your last Album in December what was your writing and recording process?

TR - It took about a year to write, we did a lot of touring in that time including Australia and New Zealand and we wrote an album somewhere in there. It has been received really well. I feel like every record we do is different and that is part of progression and moving forward. Lucky for us and metal blade it has been really well received and you never know what people will think.

TM - Who designed your album cover and was there a meaning behind it?

TR - I originally had the idea for a T-shirt and then it dawned on me that it would make a great album cover. It just popped in my head what you see on the album cover is a more classical version of the Grim Reaper with the world on his shoulders bearing the burden of humanity.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and in your style or their style?

TR - I think it would be cool if carcass did it or Dead Can Dance do one of our songs in this style.

TM - If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be and why?

TR - Igorrr especially Gautier Serre that would be awesome something different from what we do.

TM - What was your favorite memory of watching someone else peform live?

TR - When Slayer was playing The Clash of the Titans tour in the early 90s. This guy got on the top of the speakers and jumped and he should of died and he lived, he was fine. We are talking 12 storys at the top of a sports Arena, it was the craziest thing I have ever seen and everyone cheered.

TM - That is crazy, I cannot believe he survived.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

TR - Thank You for hanging in there with us, I know we have only been out there twice. we said we need to go to Australia when the record comes out and we cannot wait to be there.

TM - Thank You for this interview today, we really appreciate it and we cannot wait to see you in Australia.
