HAVE YOU GOT ANY NEW INFLUENCES TO MODERNISE YOUR MUSIC?
We are working with different writers this time among ourselves. I guess the direction the record will take will emerge as we write the individual pieces of it and we will get a sense of where it’s going as a LP they say we still call them LP’s.
HOW DID YOU MEET PATTI SMITH AND ARE YOU GOING TO WORK WITH HER?
We are hoping to do a version of Career of Evil a Cormorant Strikes the novel by J.K. Rowling. They are making a HBO(Home Box Office) series out of that and we are thinking of collaborating that way. The Patti smith lyrics we have written over the years were given to us by Patti many years ago. There was just written pages and some of them came from her books of poetry. We haven’t talked to her about submitting new stuff so I don’t know
YOUR MUSIC HAS BEEN OFTEN INSPIRED BY HEROIC FANTASY INCLUDING MICHAEL MOORCOCK'S ELRIC, WHAT DREW YOU TO THIS FORLORN ANTI HERO?
Michael sent me lyrics so I had several lyrics to choose from to write the songs. The lyric content came straight from him. We often have songs about tragic characters in heart break and historical events it what we like to do.

We only have one hour so we will do the best we can to get 40 years into one hour.
RICHIE IS THE MUSIC YOU MAKE AND PUT ON FACEBOOK JUST FOR FUN OR A FUTURE VISION?
It’s mainly for fun to goof around in front of people. I have a lot of very talented friends who are great musicians and it gives us a excuses to get together and make music for people. The feedback has been great, we love doing it, and it’s a lot of fun.
YOU ARE A 70’S REVIVAL BAND AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE AND YOU HAVE INFLUENCED A LOT OF NEW BANDS DO YOU HAVE ANY NEW BANDS YOU LIKE?
Don’t know much about new music to be honest I’m an old man. I’m a big fan of Five Finger Death Punch though.
HOW DID YOU GET CHOSEN TO WRITE THE SONGS FOR THE MOVIE HEAVY METAL?
The people who made the movie Heavy Metal asked us to send in some songs. And we wrote songs for the movie but they didn’t like the songs we wrote. So they choose the song Veteran of the Psychic Wars that was going to be on Fire of Unknown Origin from the movie Heavy Metal.
LAST TIME YOU ONLY PLAYED FOR 50 MINUTES AND YOU WERE MEANT TO PLAY FOR AN HOUR ARE YOU PLAYING FOR AN HOUR SHARP TONIGHT?
We have to do what they say. Tonight we will do the hour. We are rebels but we want to come back another year.
IN THE BEGINNING OF THE 70S YOU WERE TOURING WITH ALICE COOPER WAS IT A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE?
Years ago it was common for three act shows to have three completely different bands not the same kind of music. Different genres you know so to play with the birds would be not unusual. We played with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Stevie Wonder and Grateful Dead. I like shows were there’s different kinds of music its more interesting to me.
