Twinmusix catch up with Anton Kabanen to chat about the new Beast In Black Album
What can fans expect from your new album?
Our fans can expect Heavy metal with lots of different elements and a mixed bag of audio.
How did you come up with your band name?
First of all I wanted it to be connected to my past. Second of all it's related to this Japanese culture and there is a song on our album called Berserke, that is also related to Japanese culture.
What is your favourite gig memory?
The first time I saw Judas priest they really good and I was really excited to see them live.
If you toured with Nightwish again would you like to cover any of their songs?
I would like to cover Wish I had a Angel, I really like this song.
Can you tell us more about your writing process?
it's always been the same for me a very solitary process and I have always written in the same style. The debut beast in Black album is going to continue for me, It's kind of the 4th beast album.
Holy Survivor was an amazing success, has it's taught you any lessons that will impact your future work?
I think you learn lessons after every album and every tour; It's a lifelong learning process when you are producing Albums.
How did the band all meet?
Yannis is our singer we meet in 2015, we were in contact one year before that over the Internet ,the other guys are all my old friends from the past, so we knew each other for a few years before we decided to form this new band.
Is there anything else your fans don't know?
I also play in a Hungarian based metal band called Wisdom with my bass player.
Can you tell us any fan stories?
Many years ago I remember we got this huge package from France, it was full of all kinds of things. I would say people are very excited when they meet us.
If you could have any band play one of your songs which band would and in your style or there's?
I would be flattered if anyone would play my song.
when I was in BattleBeast, Sabaton covered out of control.
Which festival would you like to play the most?
Battle Beast played on a smaller stage at Waken Open Air, If Beast in Black could play Waken Open Air on the main stage that would be a dream.
What's your favourite song to play on tour?
At the moment I think it's beast in black and I think our fans really like it to.
How often do you write your set list for your tour?
Usually it's the same set list from beginning to the end of our tour.
Is there anything else you would like to announce to your fans?
We hope to play on Australia as soon as possible interview then take care everyone and check out the album.
