Atreyu - Brandon Saller
TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Brandon Saller from Atreyu, Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.
BS - No worries.
TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?
BS - This one is special for us, as we are doing an album play through which is different from anything that we have done before. We get to play a classic record of ours"The Curse" and dip into a handful of other fan favourites for the show. Our friends "Memphis May Fire" are coming with us it's going to be quite the evening.
TM - Do you have a favourite song to play live?
BS - "You Eclipsed by Me" is a fun one.
TM - What's your favourite memory with your fans?
BS - They are endless at this point. We have had a lot of incredible times being in a packed room and having your fans screen your songs back to you, that is a good memory. Australia provides us that evey time we come.
TM - Are you working on any new music?
BS - We have been very busy in the studio, so the next year of Atreyu is going to be good for the people who are paying attentio.
TM - Who was the first band you saw live and can you tell us a story?
BS - The first band I went to was "Voodoo Glow Skulls" a punk band out of side of a skatepark in California. I went with my brother and my mum only let's me go because my brother went with me. I was introduced to a circle pit and crowd surfing and it was insane. That is what got me into punk rock music and wanting to be in a band.
TM - Can you tell us more about your bourbon?
BS - We got approached by Three Chord Bourbon in the states and they have done some collaborations with some other bands and it was a cool process. They picked our brains about what we liked about bourbon and what we didn't like and what bourbon were into and we compiled what our dream bourbon would be and they sent a multiple rounds of different blends telling us what each one was and where it was from and we perfected it and it came out great.
TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?
BS - As It is a tour for our "The Curse" album, I would choose a song from that. I would pick "You Eclipsed by Me" and we will have the Foo Fighters play it in their style that would be cool.
TM - Who is your favourite band you have seen live?
BS - The Foo Fighters, the first time I saw them was in an Arena in Southern California. One of the best times I have ever seen them was in Australia and we were on Soundwave Festival and we found out we could get tickets to the show. We were at Manly Beach when we found out and they were like they go on in two hours so we left straight away went back to her Hotel got changed and by the time we got to this Stadium The Foo Fighters had already been playing for an hour and they still played an hour and a half of my favourite songs.
TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?
BS - Keep buying all our show tickets as fast as you did on this tour and we will keep coming back all the time.
