Twinmusix Chat To Andrew.WK About His Australian Tour And More

what can can't expect from your Australian tour?

Well it's the first time we will be playing there since 2009, so where really excited to come back we have the new album "you're not alone" that came out a few months ago. We are really excited to play some of our new songs off that and play songs off our other album as well.

You released your new album you're not alone in March how have fans responded?

I have been very moved and humbled by the reactions. Any type of positive feedback is great, but this time it was more than positive feedback. People were really detailed in what they shared, as in how the songs made them feel. The feeling they described getting from the album was a feeling i was trying to portray and trying to get the listener. I have never really had such a clear connection with an effort in recording with person I wanted to hear it not only heard it but hearing it in the way. I was hoping they would hear it which is very rare for me so it's a huge moment in connecting with other people.

What was your writing and recording process on your new album "Your Not Alone"?

It was more or less the same process that ive used over all these years, I work this by myself recording every day or night and try and clear as much time as possible so you can work on nothing else besides recording. This album took a long time, it took many many years which was not intentional because it was very difficult and challenging to get a big block of time. There was so much fun excitement and so many parties going on and I struggled to get that clear Unbroken focus at the time but in the end it all worked out.

How did you come up with your album cover for "Your Not Alone" and who designed it?

It was designed by Boris Palljo and Julie Bell and they are the reigning king and queen of that type of art full established Legends of that type of art that I have admired for years and years and years. I would have never Dared working with them let alone making a painting with them but I did working with them on my album cover was one of the high points of my career it was one of the most meaningful encouraging and inspiring moments ive ever had as an individual and a creative person it was so encouraging and open-minded and so talented really just getting to work with masters of a craft that are good at what they do.

You made a pizza and taco guitar with ESP guitars do you have anything planned for your next Guitar?

I have more food based ideas for guitars for the kids so we'll see what happens.

In 2011 new released you ep "Party all goddamn night" in Japan only would you release it anywhere else?

A lot of my work is based on request or invitation opportunity will come in with people I work with many times and trust and I'm excited to hear their idea and go forward with it and that was the case with that.

If you could have any band play one of your songs which band would it be which song and in your style or theirs

Any band at all any band that would be willing to play one of the songs that we have done I would be very thankful for.

What gear do you use in the studio compared to on stage?

I exclusively use Roland keyboards in the studio and on stage.

Can you tell us a tour story?

Our tour bus broke down and the bus company would not get us a new tour bus, so we had a choice of whether to cancel that shows or find a way to get to that next show. Everyone pitched in rented cars and trucks and drove them to the next show it was the most extraordinary team effort in anything I've ever done.

Anything else you'd like to announce to your?

 Just keep partying!
