What can fans expect from your Australian tour?

A long show, and something more current as well a big mix of material. Obviously they're doing ‘The Optimus’ tour at the moment but there's a lot of songs from ‘The Optimus’ also with ‘A Fine Day To Exit’ being connected to ‘The Optimus’ we are playing ‘A Few Reasons’ songs from that record as we like breaking down the bodies, which we have never really played live before. There's some visuals in the show and some conceptual stuff and some videos, there's a new way to perform and seeing a bunch of different instruments on set it's going to be quite different from the last time out.

What's your favorite gig memory with your fans?

One time we were in Alicante in Spain and there was a festival outdoors at night. It was like a holiday crowd and I wasn't sure if they were drunk. As far as audiences go; they were hilarious.

How did you come up with your new album cover for the Optimus?

The cover itself is part of a story and the image for the cover came to us very early on, it was after that that we tied in the continuation. ‘The Optimus’ is a fairytale character and auto bio-graphical, it's like when you're watching a movie you can identify what the character is going through. That's the idea behind it really and all the artwork itself is shot on location on the West Coast of America.

In 1999 to 2004 you remastered your albums and you release them in a box set would you ever consider doing that again for your fans?

I think we are done with looking back on the past and paying tribute to it now. I don't really know what else we could do, we have always been a band that looks forward.

If you could have any band play one of your songs which band would which and would it be in your style or theirs?

‘The Lost Child’ in their style, I think it's important to let the band choose how they want to play it

What's your favorite song to play off the new album?

San Francisco

How have your fans transitioned with your music overtime?

For the most part I think a lot of people are open minded so they stayed with us. However, I think we are getting a whole new audience now. People who are not really into metal at all and people who are into all kinds of music. We are gaining more followers but our music is still changing.

Did you start off with covers or your own music?

When we started off we were just kids playing around, we wrote a few songs but they were just Monty Python style humour and joke songs, we actually had a song called ‘Psychedelic Sheep Dick’, it was green slimy Radioactive and got in your wellies. The first thing we did was a Christmas album maybe by 15 and 6 months later we had a record deal.

How did you come up with your band name?

That was our old singer and it was something aesthetically that he likes the look of it on a page. It doesn’t really mean anything it's just a name.

Are you working on a new album?

Yeah, we are always writing music we never stop. At the moment we have been busy touring so Danny, John, and I have been writing stuff on our own, but we don't really know what each other has been doing so that will come in the next few months. While we are on the road, we will play each other some of our songs and figure out what direction we are going in.

Do you have anything to announce to your fans?

In Australia we have very long shows and the whole day planned out. We have VIP packages on sale. The general admission show is a really long gig and more about where the band is at currently.
