GEL, Underoath and Alexisonfire Review

GEL, Underoath and Alexisonfire played at the Hordern pavilion last night and they crushed all their sets from start to finish.
GEL is a hardcore, punk and groove band from New Jersey, and they opened up the night with phenomenal Guitar and powerful breakdowns and which filled the venue with energy, and the atmosphere was dynamite. GEL continued with their set and the hardcore Vocals, irresistibly catchy melodies and popping Bass made the crowd cheer and want more. As the set came to a close the groovy drum beats put a skip in our step and the excitement on everyone's face was crystal clear, they got us ready for Underoath.
Underoath were up next and as they walked on stage we knew we were in for an epic set and they were playing their album "They’re Only Chasing Safety" plus their other hits. As they kicked off the set with " Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape, Young and Aspiring and A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White " the powerful vocals and rocking harmonies drew you in and amped up the crowd and it was a blast. The set continued with " Reinventing Your Exit, The Blue Note and It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door " and the upbeat drums, fierce guitar hooks and thrilling Bass Guitar stuck in your head. As the set continued Spencer Chamberlain jumped on the front barrier and sung with his fans.
The set continued, and the crowd was headbanging along to " Down, Set, Go, I Don't Feel Very Receptive Today and I'm Content With Losing ", and they nailed every song. As the audience erupted in a screaming frenzy, Underoath played their last songs, " All The Love Is Gone, Generation No Surrender and Writing on the Walls" and the blazing Keyboards and circle pits kept going, and the audience swayed, and Underoath proved they knew how to capture the crowd's attention.
Alexisonfire came out on stage and kicked off their set with " Young Cardinals, Sweet Dreams of Otherness, Hey, It's Your Funeral Mama " and the Insane vocals, heavy and driving rhythm guitar and throbbing Drum beats made the crowd roar and they screamed the lyrics back to the band. The intensifying fun energy continued We got to watch Alexisonfire play "Sans Soleil, It Was Fear of Myself That Made Me Odd and We Are the Sound", and the mosh pits was in full swing, and crowd surfers were coming over the barriers.
Alexisonfire continued with "Blue Spade, This Could Be Anywhere in the World and Accidents", and the lively bass guitar and the band's explosive energy blew us away and made us feel alive as the music ran through our veins. Alexisonfire finished off their set with "A Dagger Through the Heart of St. Angeles, Dog's Blood and Happiness by the Kilowatt" and the upbeat tempo, furious melodies, Infectious vocals and melodic keys brought a raw sound that blew your mind.
As the night came to a close Gel, Underoath and Alexisonfire put on non-stop nostalgia hits and each song was incredible. We were sad to see such a fantastic show come to an end and we cannot wait for them to come to Sydney again.
