Alestorm Review
Last night, we had all hands on deck as the fans sailed across the ocean to see their fellow pirate crew Alestorm at the Roundhouse and the fans were dressed in their pirate attire. We watched Livewire, Nekrogoblikon and Alestorm play epic sets that pulled you in from start to finish.
Livewire are a Speed thrash metal band from Sydney and they rocked the stage last night. As they walked on stage you could see the enthusiasm on everyone's face and Livewire kicked off the set with " Venom Lord, Attack Attack Attack and Turbo Shark " to a packed room. As the performance continued with "Insecticide and Fast Mean Killing Machine" the blazing tempos, driving guitar riffs and rhythms and massive vocals made everyone's metal horns fly in the air and the crowd was Head banging. Livewire closed their set with " Demons Grip and Lockjaw Death roll " and the heavy drums and loud bass echoed through the venue and they got us pumped up for Nekrogoblikon.

Nekrogoblikon is a melodic death metal band from California and they graced our shores with their green goblin and an epic set. As they got the crowd revved up and rearing to go they kicked off their set with "Powercore, The Many Faces of Dr. Hubert Malbec, Darkness and Bones" and the Pounding Vocals, wrenching choruses, Soaring Guitar, heavy drums and gripping bass lines created a thrilling atmosphere.
As Nekrogoblikon continued with "Dressed as Goblins, We Need a Gimmick, No One Survives and The Magic Spider" the upbeat tempo, furious melodies, Infectious vocals and melodic keys brought a raw sound that blew our minds. As the energy on stage continued, the clean and growling vocals filled our ears with fun lyrics and the band finished off their set with "This Is It" and they left us on a high note and ready for Alestorm.

Last night, Sydney drank an Ale in a storm at a pirate-themed party with an inflatable rubber duck at the Roundhouse and the crowd was amped up and full of rowing power for this fantastic show.
Alestorm need no introduction but we are going to introduce them anyway as they are such an epic band, Christopher Bowes on lead vocals and keytar, Gareth Murdock on bass and backing vocals, Peter Alcorn on drums, Elliot Vernon on keyboards, unclean vocals and tin whistle, Máté Bodor on guitar and Patty Gurdy on hurdy-gurdy and they drew you in from the opening song "Keelhauled".

As the upbeat and fun night continued with the sing along tunes, we got "Shipwrecked" in "Mexico, Under Blackened Banners" with "Alestorm". Next up was "1741 (The Battle of Cartagena)" and we were sure to have a "Hangover" in the morning.

As the hits kept us sailing and the Circle pit was in full force, Christopher's Spectacular vocals and keytar, Gareth's Powerful Bass, Peter's Intense Drums and Elliot's electrifying keyboards played and took us into a storm. Alestorm continued with hits " Fannybaws, Zombies Ate My Pirate Ship and Voyage of the Dead Marauder". Next up was "Big Ship Little Ship" based on the song "Big Fish Little Fish" that was on the TV show Bob The Builder.

The pirate shantys continued with "Uzbekistan" to be followed by "Nancy the tavern wench" and the audience sat down and rowed along to the song in unity. As the lights started flashing in a rainbow sequence we knew it was time to P.A.R.T.Y. and the crowd started dancing. Alestorm continued with "Death Throes of the Terrorsquid and Shit Boat (No Fans)" and the crew had a fire in the hole.
Alestorm walked off the stage and the crowd cheered for more, as Alestorm finished their set with "Drink, Wooden Leg!, Fucked With an Anchor and Rumpelkombo" It made you want to P.A.R.T.Y. all night long.
