HOW DID YOU FANS RESPOND TO YOUR ALBUM KILL YOURSELF?
Well the album is actually untitled and it was received pretty well. People we’re happy to hear “a perfect mix between old-school death metal and deathcore” and think it’s “Super raw and heavy”. Quotes taken from the full album stream found on our Youtube.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT PERFORMING?
Brett and Taylor are avid Yu-Gi-Oh collectors, we all go to college part and full time. Derek loves to crush beers and I (Eric) cut meat as a butcher.
WHAT BANDS INFLUENCE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC?
We are all influenced by different bands, Taylor pulls influence from bands like Dream Theater, TesseracT and other proggy bands that help keep his bassy playing nice and spicy. Brett enjoys Amon Amarth, Capture the Crown, Chunk No! Captain Chunk and Whitechapel making his guitar riffage heavy, but melodic. Our drummer Derek loves Cannibal Corpse, Pantera and more old school death metal ensuring our music is filled with blast beats, heavy on the bell and always cohesive. I prefer melodic deathmetal and deathcore. Early influences being We Are The End, Incarpathia, In Flames and All Shall Perish which I find give my vocals a raw, but enunciated tone.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CONCERT MEMORY?
At the 2010 Curruptour featuring Whitechapel, Impending Doom, Oceano, Miss May I and I Declare War EMTs and paramedics came rushing through the pit to take a man out on a stretcher and bring him to the hospital.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SONG TO PERFORM?
Hands down The Red Dawn is our favourite song to perform live. The bridge into the breakdown containing the pause “Kill Yourself First” makes fans go nuts out in the crowd, mosh pits explode and people throw down hard.
Where do you see your band sound in the future, are you looking for a similar sound or are you going to go in a different direction?
The EP/Debut Album allowed us to give a raw melodeathcore inspired fulllenght, but as we continue we want to bring more prog and technical influence into the mix while maintaining the high energy we had on the self titled release.
WHERE CAN BANDS BUY YOUR MERCHANDISE AND CD’S?
IF YOU COULD PERFORM AT ANY MUSIC FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU PICK AND WHY?
We would love to play next years Summer Slaughter at the Palladium in Worcester, MA. We opened it up this year and it was the best show we’d ever played. The energy and the people were there causing it to be a very intense show and the ladies and gentlemen that operate the Palladium are fantastic.
AS WE ARE PROMOTING YOUR BAND, IS THERE ANYTHING COMING UP LIKE ALBUM LAUNCHES OR TOUR DATES YOU WOULD LIKE US TO PROMOTE ON OUR SITE FOR YOU?
Oct 14 we’re playing a low key show at the Bungalow Bar & Grille in Manchester, NH (USA) where we opened for Feed Her To The Sharks (AUS) recently. We’re also working hard on recording our second full length which is in the early stages now, but some of the songs are really coming together.
