How have your fans responded to your new song “Never”?

ANDREA: Well, really good! I don’t think they were actually expecting a ballad as second single. After Dignity maybe someone was waiting for something with more adrenaline, but it’s our poetic side that came out and I must say the video helped a lot because people is amazed by the pair song-video, they like the story telling.

DAMIANO: I can say our fans are loving this song, and we are very happy about it. Because this song is something different from our past works. So, it was like a bet we wanted to win, and I think we did.

Who writes and composes different parts of the songs in your band?

ANDREA: Mostly I do the dirty job at least at very beginning of the creative process, then we go to studio, we listen and we start to work on it sometimes changing it a lot. Since Dignity we started to work as a full time band able to experiment and to put together all members’ influences to make a single song

What advice would you give to other bands to be successful like yours?

ANDREA: Thanks for saying “successful” even though I don’t consider SOR successful yet, we’re working on it, we know it’s not just a matter of how you play or how good your songs can be. We have to work harder to get our name out of Italy and start to have our music listened by different people. We started using social media as twitter, Facebook and so on, but now it’s time for us to place SOR in a different market. The response we see from US people is simply amazing and I personally see Stage of Reality’s future in USA.

What bands influence your style of music?

ANDREA: I speak about me of course… Alter Bridge, Ozzy Osbourne, Disturbed to pick up recent recordings. Queen, Guns and Roses, Dream Theater to pick up less recent stuff.

What is your favourite concert memory?

ANDREA: this is funny… we were in Spain in 2015 and the venue was really small, and I stress SMALL. Well, Daniele is not such a gentle guy when it comes to play drums so it happened that after a couple of songs the kick drum started to move and to dramatically get close to the singer’s feet. Bernardo had to play all the gig with a foot on the kick drum to block it and to avoid it to fall down the stage together with the singer!!!! I could talk also about strange ways to drink tea in Latvia or about a very weird “dildo conference” in Spain….

What brand of instruments do you use?

ANDREA: oh so many…. Gibson, Esp and Ibanez guitars, Hughes & Kettner and Engl amplifiers, custom made and Esp basses, Drum Sound drums.

What’s the craziest fan story you have?

ANDREA: I think definitely it’s the one about the dildo conference but we promised we’d never tell anyone before releasing Stage of Reality’s full biographic book.

What’s your favourite song to perform?

ANDREA: mine is Never of course… the newer the better.

DAMIANO: My favorite song to perform is Dignity. Because I love singing this song with my audience. It's amazing to see people singing and yelling one of your songs.

Where do you see your band sound in the future, are you looking for a similar sound or are you going to go in a different direction?

ANDREA: who knows? We are already changing if you compare our present sound with the one we got in “The Breathing Machines”. Personally I’d like to move to a heavier direction but also more experimental, but its’ something I just feel, I don’t have any idea yet. Before we need a third album to locate ourselves into a specific style then maybe we can move.

If you could have any band/performer sing of your songs, which would it be and would it be in your style or theirs?

ANDREA: I would like the band to play in their style of course and I’m sincerely looking forward to see someone performing an SOR’s song! Which band? Well it would be such a honor that I really cannot tell a name. whoever it will be it’s gonna be great… even Justin Bieber… LOL

As we are promoting your band, is there anything coming up like album launches or tour dates you would like us to promote on our site for you?

ANDREA: Actually yes, we got an upcoming Italian tour scheduled in October from 18th to 22nd. We are finishing our second album called “Stage of Reality” and we think it will be released in February/March 2017. We are working on our new videoclip, the song is “Spectral Drum Down” and it will be released just before the full album. In December we’ll participate to a great festival in Italy and we’ll have the honor to be supporting act for Mark Boals (Y.J.Malmsteen-Dokken)
