HOW DID YOUR FANS RESPOND TO YOUR NEW ALBUM PARIAH?
The respose in North America has been great considering it was our first release over there, especially with radio playing it so much. We had 3 releases here in Australia already which went to No.1 and No.2 on the iTunes Metal Charts here so its great that the US has picked it up as well.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MUSIC VIDEO AND WHY?
Of ours it would be our first single ’10,000 Headless Horses’ mainly because we got to work for the first time with the Blackley Brothers from Her Name Is Murder Productions who we have worked with ever since.
WHAT’S YOUR CRAZIEST FAN STORY?
We have fans who have tatoos of our logo and even our signatures, which is crazy but awesome at the same time!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT WITH YOUR FANS?
We have fans reach out to use from all over the world via social media to let us know how our music has helped them through rough times which is very touching. One fan from Italy contacted us to let us know how the music helped her through a tough health time, so we sent her a little care package of signed merch. When we got her email back to say how happy it made her and to see the photos with the gear it was really special.
HOW HAS YOUR MUSIC CHANGED FROM WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED?
Each phase of the band has seen an evolution of our style, going from the groove riff based sound of our beginning to more complex guitar and song arrangements and now to more electronic elements in the mix. Its always remained dark and heavy though!
IF YOU COULD PICK ANY MUSIC FESTIVAL TO PERFORM AT (IN THE WORLD), WHAT MUSIC FESTIVAL WOULD YOU PICK AND WHY?
Probaably Download! I would spend most of my time watching the other bands haha
WHAT BANDS INFLUENCED YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC?
Personally for me Mike Paton was my vocal idol for his range and off the wall stylings, but also his musical choices helped informed my other wide and varied tastes in music and art in general.
WHAT BRAND INSTRUMENTS DO YOU USE?
Bizz is endorsed by Dean Guitars, Morley Pedals and Nady Wireless
Matt is endorsed by ESP Guitars, Hatke Amps and Nady Wireless
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE CONCERT MEMORY?
I think opening for Static X and what turned out to be their last tour.
How did your band form? And how did you decide what type of music you were going to play?
We had all been in other bands that had done well locally and had broken up or dissolved at the same time, and mutlaly friends got us in touch originally. A similar thing happened with the newer members, we got hooked up by mutual friends. We always wanted heavy but also wanted ot add other elements like atmospherics, keys and samples. I think we have finally realised the fullest expression of that with our current sound on the new album we are working on.
HAVE YOU CHANGED ANY MEMBER’S SCIENCE YOU FIRST STARTED?
Yes we have a new guitarist and a new drummer, who both help out with the electronics.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE MISTAKES DURING YOUR PERFORMANCE?
We have a code word for major malfunctions, otherwise we play through and incorporate it into the show.
