HOW DID YOUR FANS RESPOND TO YOUR NEW SINGLE “HUBRIS”?

At the moment we’ve been pretty low key with everything we’re doing until we’ve recorded a few more singles. The way we are operating right now is like a store that’s doing a soft opening. We are letting people in our collective communities know we’re up to stuff and we’re populating our resources with content. But for the few thousand views we got from just sharing it on Instagram and Facebook we are very happy.

HOW DID FANS RESPOND TO YOUR NEW SINGER LAZARUS?

I haven’t heard a complaint about what Lazarus adds to the table, he’s quite the talented musician and he laid down the vocals for Hubris in a single day only after being introduced to the content for a few short days.

WHAT OTHER BANDS INFLUENCED YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC?

This one varies quite a bit from member to member, I can only really speak for myself but my influence comes from quite the plethora of music listening. My style comes from influence of trying to incorporate the various techniques metal genres pick up to make it “their own”. For example Thrash metal and Death metal in the genres itself employ tons of various palm muting techniques and picking patterns that are prevalent in the music. I like to take those and mix it with others. For example mixing the blackened thrash feel of Dissection while fitting it to a pattern befitting of something from the area of Meshuggah. I kinda have a hard time responding to questions like these because of how varied the bits and pieces of my play-style are.

HOW HAS YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC CHANGED SCIENCE YOU FIRST STARTED?

When I was younger, it was all about playing the fastest and with the most notes. I just tried to make heavy grooves with leads and harmonies all over the place just trying to fit as many ideas into one space. I learned through discovering more music and picking the brain of other musicians what music really meant to me and as I got older it really started to change my whole approach to it.

WHAT IS YOUR CRAZIEST FAN STORY?

This one time Bobby Blitz from Overkill jumped off stage and I guess I wasn’t paying, the craziest amount of attention because I was running around like a jackass - but he landed right into my chest and just got up like nothing happened, pulled me up, slapped me on the side of my arm and was like “Thanks” then ran back on stage. It took a few seconds for that one to register after it happened.

WHAT BRAND INSTRUMENT’S DOSE YOUR BAND USE?

We all use different things and don’t carry any type of sponsorship. I personally currently play a custom made guitar that I had ordered through a Luthier I met through a guy I had made the pickups that were originally made for another guitar but end up getting put into the custom.

ARE YOU RECORDING ANY NEW SONGS AT THE MOMENT?

Right now we’re in the process of tracking our next single, Perspective and will be releasing it soon.

DO YOU HAVE ANY GIGS COMING UP?

We are concentrating on getting a slew of recordings and videos done before going to play shows so I will have to keep you posted on that J

WHERE CAN YOUR FANS BUY YOUR MERCHANDISE AND CD’S?

Right now we have no official merchandise as we’re still in our “soft” opening stage, but I encourage anyone who is interested to check us out on Youtube, Spotify, Apple Music or Tidal.
