QUESTIONS ANSWERED BY: JONAS JÖNSSON.

HOW DID YOUR FANS RESPOND TO YOUR ALBUM: WELCOME APOCALYPSE?

The response has been pretty good! It´s always hard for a unsigned band to get attention from people and attract new fans, but we feel like the response for “Welcome Apocalypse” has been greater than our first album “Feeding it” so I guess we must be doing something right! Most people who take the time and listen to it seems to like it and we also have been getting some very positive reviews for the album both online and in magazines.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT PERFORMING?

We can´t live on our music (yet) so we all have normal jobs in our home town of Sundsvall, Sweden. When we are not working or playing live we´re usually in our rehearsal space working on new material or rehearsing old stuff.  We also have our own recording studio at the rehearsal space so we try to do a lot of recording as well.

WHAT BANDS INFLUENCE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC?

That´s a though one… The four of us has pretty different influences between us, but some bands that we all have in common are classic bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pantera but also newer bands like Lamb of God and Dream Theater.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST PERFORMANCE TO DATE?

Probably a show that we did back in the summer of 2007 in our hometown of Sundsvall in Sweden. It was a great night with a lot of people in the audience and the show also went down whiteout any hiccups.

WHAT BRAND OF INSTRUMENTS DO YOU USE?

Lars uses Ibanez guitars, Dunlop picks, Peavy 6505+ amps and Marshall 4x12 cabinets.

Mikael uses Ibanez guitars, Dunlop Picks and Mesa Boogie Rectifier amps and cabinets.

Kristoffer uses Fender Modern Player basses and Hartke amps and cabinets.

Jonas uses Tama Starclassic drums, Sabian cymbals, Wincent drumsticks and Gibraltar hardware.

WHAT’S THE CRAZIEST FAN STORY YOU HAVE?

Well… We haven’t yet been out on the road that much to have any crazy fan stories to pass along for you. We´ll do our best to have one until the next interview!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SONG TO PERFORM?

I think the whole band enjoy playing the title track from “Welcome Apocalypse” (you figure out the name of the song…) It´s a groovy and technical song with a great sing-a-long chorus.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR BAND SOUND IN THE FUTURE, ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A SIMILAR SOUND OR ARE YOU GOING TO GO IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION?

We never have any plans on sounds or genres when we write. We usually go with what we think sounds good at the moment. So far it has worked out really good and I feel like we have been able to write music with a great variation of slow heavy song, faster thrash songs, some are more technical and others are more “straight forward hard rock” songs.

IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY BAND/PERFORMER SING OF YOUR SONGS, WHICH WOULD IT BE AND WOULD IT BE IN YOUR STYLE OR THEIRS?

It would be pretty cool to hear Danzig do a cover on a BLACK BAY song. And offcourse he´ll do it as 100% DANZIG!

AS WE ARE PROMOTING YOUR BAND, IS THERE ANYTHING COMING UP LIKE ALBUM LAUNCHES OR TOUR DATES YOU WOULD LIKE US TO PROMOTE ON OUR SITE FOR YOU?

We are currently working on a new EP containing 6 songs and the plan is to release it sometime during the spring of 2017 and then try to get some gigs out in Europe. We have written a lot of material so there might be another EP with 5 or 6 songs released under the fall of 2017, but nothing has been decided as of yet.
